It goes beyond good pay. What will be the priority is keeping the employees happy. A good deal of the success of the business will depend on how motivated the workers are.
Set the Example
If the management shows a positive attitude, then this can build trust in the employees. They will be more motivated to complete their tasks and put the company as their priority. If management believes in the company, then the workers will too. On the other hand, if the management is discontent, then the workers will feel insecure. They will be more focused on this than the tasks at hand.
A lot of times, a worker can be completing a task where they come up with ideas that may make it more productive. If they believe in the company, they will be motivated to bring their ideas to those who can make decisions about them. If employees are not motivated to share their opinions, then they are not going to be motivated in their daily work activities. Quite often, an employer will have a suggestion box that encourages employees to share their ideas. In other cases, a company may offer incentives for this.
Motivation for Progression
Employees that just come to work every day to earn their paycheck and fill their hours are generally not motivated to progress. There may be a few that want to work their way up the corporate ladder, but they may not be the best choice for the company. Every employee should be motivated towards advancement within the company. Getting them motivated is the responsibility of management. They must create the type of work environment that will allow for this.
